Great stuff here. Frankly I reckon it's worth the purchase for 'Newark Wilder' alone. The Victims - All Loud On the Western Front

Here is some Australian 70's punk Gold, The Victims "All Loud On The Western Front".

"All Loud On The Western Front" is a compilation released in 1989, with all the songs from the first single and ep.

its almost all the victims goodness on one record.

The Victims were a punk band from Perth formed in 1977 with members that went on to play in bands like the hoodoo gurus and the Scientists.

Straight off the bat this record is simply ruling "Television Addict" which has been covered by You am I, the Hellacopters and the hoodoo Gurus.

This is a great pressing as well, the inner sleeve is covered in photos of the band and gigs and printed on hard cardboard. The whole feel of this record is classic and is a must for any lover of good Australian music.

It's in mint condition and its in our store now!

Grant Hart 12". 2541

Grant was to me "the other songwriter" in Husker Du although most of my friends thought he was THE songwriter and Bob Mould was "the other" ? He wrote some of Husker Du's best songs and was......... a signing drummer, which is always great (Hard Ons, Carpenters etc)

He wrote love songs that everyone assumed were for a girl, but weren't. This song is a love song to a house. A house at number, you guessed it, 2541 which was the bands former office where they had all lived. Like Evan Dando, he can write love songs to inanimate objects and make them so sad and poignant. This was his first release as after Husker Du broke up and it's a GREAT EP. Tim.

We have a copy of this for sale. Contact Tym guitars for more info.

The Hard Ons 12". Yummy

What an album. This was the album for me, that cemented all the Hard Ons love of pop into one great record with songs like Where Did She come From, Dull, Ain't gonna let you go etc etc and finishing with Blackie's rendition of Stairway to Heaven. GOLD.

Released just in time to tour with the Ramones in '91, this was a fantastic pop punk record. I saw these guys too many times live and they always put on a show. In the wastelands of late 80's punk, they were Gods and paved the way for so many other great Australian pop punk bands to follow, and they're such nice boys. GET A COPY OF THIS ALBUM. Tim.

Fugazi - In On The Kill Taker 12"

I go back and forth between this and 'End Hits' as my favourite Fugazi album, but everyone seems to like different ones. Ultimately they're all pretty special, and all contain fantastic songs, and great guitar work. To me this one sounds a little colder and a bit more harsh than the others but in a good way.

Never got to see them live. Which totally sucks.

And yet I believe every bit of hyperbole. Geordie.

We have 'In On The Kill Taker' in stock for $20, and most of rest of the Fugazi catalogue as well. Contact Tym Guitars for more info.

Flamin' Groovies 12" Shake Some Action

I saw these guys at Easts Leagues Club back in the '80's. They were supported by an Australian band called the Olympic Sideburns and it was a GREAT night.

These guys were a pop band from San Fransisco that started out as a US "British beat" band sounding very much like the Beatles. Around '71 they got a new lead singer and in '76 released the AWESOME Shake Some Action with Dave Edmonds producing. They played with the Ramones at the height of PUNK in the UK and got a whole new audience. This is a GREAT 60's inspired, punk attitude pop record. Tim.

We have a copy of this for sale. Contact Tym guitars for more info.

The Cramps 12" Songs the Lord Taught Us

I got this one YEARS ago. I didn't buy it new, but it wasn't long after it was released in 1980 or so. The Cramps are/were and will always be one THE BEST Rock'n'Roll bands of ALL TIME. Along with the Ramones they were the pure essence of R'n'R. This album, along with all their albums are always top of my list for "great music for listening to"

I saw the Cramps several times live and met Lux and Ivy once outside of the Playroom (remember the Playroom kids ?) and got their autograph. They still rate as one of the greatest live bands ....... EVER. While I love the early days I think some of the later albums are still absolute gold for pure R'n'R entertainment. There will never be another Lux. Tim.

We have a copy of this 12" in stock now. Contact Tym guitars for more info.

The Eastern Dark 12". Long Live the New Flesh

Another one of those "of course he's got this one" albums. This EP was a revelation when it came out.
This is Australian Ramones at it's best. Their first 7" single "Joey and Dee Dee" (also available) said it all. Members of the Celibate Rifles and Lime Spiders joined forces to form a band and opened every live show with a Ramones cover, in order of their discography. Their name was taken from the Phantom comic. They were pure "pop punk" before it was cool.

This EP was actually released after lead singer and songwriter James Darroch was killed when the bands tour van ran off the road ending a short but VERY impressive bands career. This 12' and the aforementioned 7' are both Australian punk classics and a must for any collection. Tim.

We have copies of both available for sale.

Fucked Up - Couple Songs 2002-2009

This compilation collects a bunch of tracks from the 30-40 7" singles/EPs the band released over a 7 year period. It follows on from their 'Epics in Minutes' compilation which covered the first few 7"s.
Most of these releases are LONG sold out, and starting to reach ludicrous prices on eBay.
As time has passed the band has progressed from catchy melodic hardcore punk to more arty melodic hardcore punk with 18 minute long songs. This collection covers the whole range of their progression.
We have this double LP set in stock for $25. Grab a copy before they all go, and it costs you your first-born to get a copy.

Buzzcocks 12" blue vinyl. I Am the Amazing Buzzcocks

What Do I get
Fast Cars
Moving away from the Pulsebeat.

Need I say anymore ?

Released in 1978 by one of the best "punk" bands of the day. These guys were pop at it's best. We have a clear blue copy of this 12" in stock now. Tim.

Teenage Fanclub 12" God knows it's True

I ordered this in late '90 after reading about this "great new band from Scotland" in NME. They described them as lush pure pop with 3 part harmonies. It sounded pretty good to me. I waited 6 weeks or so for it to arrive (pre online days folks) and it was worth the wait. They have been one of my favorite bands ever since.

This 12" single was the start of my love affair with this highly underrated band. Later albums just got better and better and I still think they are unrivaled in the world of pure pop for having three full time members who share writing and signing and can harmonize with each other so beautifully. On album they are amazing. Live they rock, really. We have this copy of the 12" single for sale NOW. Tim

Jesus Lizard - Goat

This album kicked my arse when I first got it.
The rhythm section are ridiculously tight, Duane Denison's guitar playing is fantastic, and David Yow's vocal 'stylings' are both unique and fearsome.

Goat is their second album, and my personal favourite.
And despite what Chip might say about Kim Wilde's 'Kids in America', Jesus Lizard's 'Monkey Trick' contains the best recorded scream in music.

Denison went to to Tomahawk, and now plays in Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, and Yow now performs in Qui but nothing any of the members have done comes close to the power of the Jesus Lizard material.
We have Goat and a couple of their other albums for sale in Tym Guitars.

Still so gutted I never saw them live....

Billy Bragg 12" Talking to the Taxman about Poetry

This was the second Billy Bragg album I bought and the one that cemented my absolute and undying love for the man. It was mid the late 80's and I was listening to LOTS of hardcore and after Lifes a Riot with Spy Vs Spy (which is also an incredible album) I got this and ......... well, it blew me away.

His lyrics are amazing and while some find his style and signing too annoying, you really need to look past that. Levi Stubbs tears is STILL one of the greatest pieces of artwork ..... EVER. Such a perfectly formed song in every way. A tragic, beautifully written story set to a beautiful piece of music (B minor IS the saddest chord Billy)
If you don't have this album. BUY IT. Tim

BLACK FLAG 12' Everything Went Black

This compilation was released in the early 80's and has pretty much everything pre Rollins you'd ever want out of the legendary US hardcore band. It has sections for the different lead singers in Black Flag before Rollins joined inc Keith Morris (later of Circle Jerks), Ron Reyes, Dez Cadena with the classic line up of Greg, Chuck and Robo on most of the tracks.

While there are several versions of the same song (Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie) on this comp, it's a GREAT starter for the uninitiated to get into Black Flag during what I consider to be their best period. Those who know me well know my ......... opinions of post Damage Black Flag. Tim

GOATSNAKE - Flower of disease

The Flower of disease is the second album from now defunct all star doom metal band Goatsnake. With members from bands Obsesssed, Cave In, Kyuss, Burning Witch, Scream and Sunn O))).

If you like kick ass riffs as big airs rock this is the album for you, the line up speaks for itself and so does the presentation of this pressing. Come in and check it out

Soooo Good!!

Beastie Boys 12" Polly Wog Stew

Most people know the Beastie Boys as the incredible Rap/Hip Hop band that ruled through the 90's. Three boys from NY who could rhyme better than anyone. This was their first EP with a 4th member and it's HARDCORE all the way. That's right. This was released in '82 and was in that first wave of NY hardcore. I came across this (and Bad Brains ..... more later) through a cassette (remember them kids ?) called "NY Thrash" which had a bunch of, you guessed it, NY hardcore. It had, and here's my memory in full swing, a copy of "Egg Raid on Mojo" on it. I ordered the EP from that song and loved it.

This is scrappy punk hardcore at it's most glorious. Needless to say, Licensed to Ill was a huge shock when it came out. Not only because it WASN'T the Beastie Boys I loved, but because it's mixture of Rap and Rock that changed everything, and I loved it too, thanks in a big part to Rick Rubin but also to the 3 boy crew who were now the Beastie Boys ....... but that's another story. Tim

Husker Du 12" Metal Circus

This came out in 1983 on SST. I didn't buy a copy until '86 or so but blew my mind whenever it was. This was Husker Du's second release after Everything Falls Apart, which I didn't have at the time, and is so abrasive it hurts. Husker Du were the original (and still one of the best) noisy pop band.

While this is still my second favorite Husker Du record behind New Day Rising (which is coming) it is still pure genius and sets the tone for the two GREAT songwriters in Hart and Mould to battle and keep coming up with songs to trump the other, which is what pushed these guys into ever more surprising and exciting directions, eventually leading to them being signed to a major and then disintegrating.
If you don't have a copy this, come and grab a new or second hand one of these NOW. You will not regret it. Tim

Massappeal vinyl

I remember buying this 12" EP after seeing Massappeal at, I think The Funk Yard in Brisbane around 1987. I played it to death until the Hard Ons released Love is a Battlefield and this was given a back seat. Tim.
We have this copy for sale at Tym guitars.

Exploding White Mice 12" Nest of Vipers

Here's a band I never saw live back in the day but this record was always near the front of my collection. Being a huge Ramones fan it was obvious (the band name is a homage to the boys) and the songs were a great mix of pop and garage.

They formed in Adelaide in the early 80's and this came out around '85/86 and Burning Red is STILL a GREAT song and this is a great EP. Come and get it. Tim

The Riptides 7" Sunset Strip

Released in 1979 it was a "little" before my time for alternative record buying but I got this in the mid 80's after seeing the Riptides many times live. They were a pretty standard fixture at ZZZ Joint Efforts back then, playing with bands like the Models, Hunters and Collectors, Hoodoo Gurus and Triffids among many others.

Originally released as The Numbers in '78 on Able label 003 it was re-released in '79 as the Riptides on Able label 006. We have a copy with the picture sleeve shown above available NOW. Contact Tym guitars for more info. Tim.

Dinosaur Jr Farm

After the first time I saw Dinosaur Jr at Brisbane's Tivoli and the guy in front of me looked liked he was trying to touch his brain with both index fingers because it was sooo loud, I was a fan. Then came the album  "beyond" which ruled, then they totally blew me away with the realise of  2009's "Farm"

Right from the get go this record rules from murph's drum roll into the first riff of "pieces" you know that your in for a treat. After seeing them play in Seattle and seeing all the tension still in the band going back to this record is great, you can even hear all the tension in the way the record is mixed. What a record and with a gate fold double LP what more could you ask for.
Come in and check it out

The Gun Club. Fire of Love 12' vinyl

I bought this album in about '84 after a friend at school played me Sex Beat and She's like Heroin to Me. From that moment I was caught by the Gun Club. This is an AMAZING record not just for a time and place but because it has GREAT songs.

This album influenced everyone into punk after it came out. CowPunk and Psychobilly was huge after this. The Gun Club toured (well, Jeffrey Lee Pierce toured) with The Johnnys backing him. They played at Easts Leagues Club and the world was never the same again. Tim

We have a copy of this for sale. Contact Tym guitars for more info.

RAZAR Task Force 7"

I bought this one YEARS ago from a record shop in Brisbane. It was the early 80's and I walked in and saw it hanging on the wall. I knew the song well from listening to ZZZ and going to Joint Efforts at Qld Uni refec. Although I never saw Razar live, this song has always been a true Brisbane classic punk rock moment and I had to have a copy for myself.

The one we have for sale is the original blue label AB002 PLAY LOUD 7" without picture cover. Tim.
