This was Husker Du's major label debut, a move that pissed off a lot of people in the 'underground'. Then once they heard it's cleaner production, some of them must have had kittens. It might not have the urgency of albums like New Day Rising or Everything Falls Apart but there's still plenty to like about Candy Apple Grey.
While many people may prefer their earlier, noisier work, there's no denying the brilliance of 'Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely' or the catchiness of songs like 'I Don't Know For Sure'.
