Killing Joke 12" Killing Joke
This was released in 1980 and was pretty unique at the time. It has of course become a "standard"sound now but back then this had a very abrasive noise somewhere between metal/goth and industrial/punk. It has of course been VERY influential on the music of those genre ever since. To be honest, it still sounds great today unlike a lot of other albums in this genre much younger.
The most "famous" song on this album is of course "The Wait" which was covered early on by Metallica on their Garage days EP, but this is a great album from start to finish. Killing Joke went on in the 80's to become one of the darlings of the Goth/industrial scene with songs like Eighties and Love Like Blood and have been recording ever since this album with 2 founding members Jaz Coleman and Geordie Walker. Tim.
